For videographers

Deliver video projects and get paid before the client downloads

You spent a week editing. The final cut is approved. Now you need to send the files without giving away the farm before the wire hits.

Why video delivery is especially risky

Video files are big, expensive to produce, and impossible to "undo" once delivered. You can't take back an MP4. Once the client has the export, you're relying purely on goodwill for payment.

And sending a compressed preview with a "pay for the full res" note attached? That works sometimes. But half the time the client uses the compressed version anyway and calls it good enough.

How FileCheckout handles video

Upload your video files (MP4, MOV, whatever). We show a locked file card on the delivery page with the filename and size. Your client can see exactly what files are included, but can't download until they pay.

Payment goes through Stripe to your account. Files unlock. Client hits "Download All" and gets everything as a ZIP or downloads individual files.

What videographers deliver

  • Final edited videos (MP4, MOV, ProRes)
  • Raw footage packages
  • Motion graphics and animations
  • Wedding highlight reels + full ceremony
  • Social media edits (Reels, TikTok, YouTube)
  • Color graded footage for post-production

The WeTransfer problem

A lot of videographers use WeTransfer or Google Drive to send files. Quick and easy. But the client has the files before paying. Now you're chasing an invoice while they're already posting your work on their Instagram.

FileCheckout ties the download to the payment. One link, one step. No separate invoice, no follow-up emails, no chasing.

Frequently asked questions

What video formats are supported?

Any format. MP4, MOV, ProRes, MKV, AVI. We don't process or compress your files. Whatever you upload is exactly what the client downloads.

Is there a file size limit?

Free tier: 200MB per delivery. Pay-as-you-go: 2GB. Pro: 5GB. For raw footage packages that are bigger, you can split across multiple deliveries or reach out for a custom plan.

Can the client preview the video before paying?

They see a locked file card with the filename and size. For a full preview, you can share a Vimeo or Frame.io link separately for review, and use FileCheckout for the actual payment-gated delivery of the final files.

How does the client download large video files?

After paying, they can download individual files or use the "Download All as ZIP" button. Files are served from our cloud storage with signed URLs.
