FileCheckout

For Music Producers

Stop sending beats before getting paid

You produced the track. Mixed it. Mastered it. Now the client wants the WAV file. But you haven't been paid yet. Sound familiar?

The problem every producer knows

A client hears your beat and loves it. You agree on a price. You send the file. And then... silence. No payment. They already have the track on their hard drive. What leverage do you have left?

This happens with beat leases, custom productions, mixing jobs, and mastering work. The moment you send a clean WAV or stems folder, you lose all negotiating power.

Some producers use tagged beats (audio watermarks) for previews. That works for marketplace sales, but when you're working directly with an artist or label, you need something more professional.

What you can deliver

  • Mixed and mastered tracks (WAV, MP3, FLAC)
  • Stem packs (individual instrument tracks)
  • Beat leases (tagged preview already heard, clean file behind payment)
  • Custom productions for artists or labels
  • Session files (Ableton, FL Studio, Logic Pro projects)
  • Sound design packs and sample libraries
  • Podcast editing and audio cleanup deliverables
  • Jingles and commercial music for brands

Why not just use BeatStars or Airbit?

Marketplaces are great for discovery. If you're selling beats to strangers, you need a storefront. But when you already have a client (an artist who hired you, a brand that needs a jingle, a label that commissioned a track), you don't need a marketplace taking a cut.

FileCheckout is for direct client work. You upload, set a price, send a link. Money goes straight to your Stripe account. No platform fees on the Pro plan. No storefront to maintain. No monthly catalog uploads.

Works for mixing and mastering engineers too

If you run a mixing or mastering studio, the workflow is the same. Client sends you rough tracks. You mix them. Instead of uploading the final master to Google Drive and hoping they pay the invoice, you upload it to FileCheckout. They pay, they download. Done.

No more chasing invoices. No more "I'll pay you Friday." The file doesn't unlock until the money hits your account.

Frequently asked questions

Can clients preview audio files before paying?

Right now, audio files show as a file card with the track name. Your client sees exactly what they're getting (file names, sizes) but can't download until they pay. If you want them to hear a preview first, send a tagged/watermarked MP3 separately and use FileCheckout for the clean deliverables.

What audio formats does FileCheckout support?

Any format. WAV, MP3, FLAC, AIFF, OGG, stems as ZIP files, Ableton/Logic project folders. There's no format restriction. If you can upload it, your client can download it after paying.

How much can I charge per delivery?

Whatever you want. There's no minimum or maximum. Whether it's a $50 beat lease or a $5,000 album master, you set the price and the client pays through Stripe.

Does FileCheckout take a cut of my sales?

On the Free plan, there's a small platform fee per transaction. On Pro ($15/month), there's zero platform fee. You only pay Stripe's standard processing rate (2.9% + 30 cents). Money goes directly to your Stripe account.

Can I deliver multiple files in one link?

Yes. Upload stems, the master, reference tracks, session notes. All in one delivery link. Your client pays once and downloads everything. They can also download all files as a ZIP with one click.

Ready to get paid before you send the files?
